Not everyone has it all together!
High-functioning and high-achieving women continue to present themselves to the outside world in a manner that has everyone thinking “they have it all together and I just don’t understand how they do it!” Oftentimes, these women struggle with anxiety, high stress, and eventually burnout and wake up one day not knowing what to do about it all.
Let me tell you right now… I was one of these women!
Emotional by-passing
With all of this going on, women find themselves not accepting or acknowledging what is going on under the surface because it is overwhelming and time consuming. In an attempt to move on, they try to focus on things that make them happy and provide a sense of control temporarily – this is what we call emotional bypassing.
Does it sound a little too familiar? On top of emotional bypassing, society has presented us with the “positive movement” that has everyone nervous to talk about the real emotions in fear of it being attracted into our lives. I’m going to let you in on a little secret- talking about your negative emotions and trauma will not attract negative things into your life!
There is no need to reject affirmations, visualizations, or a spiritual practice, but to rely on them solely is where you get into trouble and can find yourself bypassing when there is emotional and psychological work to be done.
The reality
The reality is, we all have troubling emotions, trauma, and daily stressors and putting life on pause and going to be a monk in the Himalayas is not a viable option for a lot of us. So you may be asking, “Okay Lisa I hear you, but what do I do now?”
I know that acknowledging where you are in your life and saying “I can’t do this all on my own” can be challenging but, advocating for yourself and asking for help for where you are in life is the first step towards healing.
I am offering a free clarity session where we can talk about your current challenges, where you would like to be, and how I can support you to achieve your goals.
You deserve real healing and I would be honored to connect with you.
As always, thank you for saving room for me in your inbox and I hope you have a beautiful week!
